Redact PDF provides a visual, interactive editor to permanently conceal and protect sensitive data in your PDF documents. Drag to mark any confidential area—such as names, addresses, ID numbers, signatures, official seals, financial figures, or portraits—and apply blackout, whiteout, mosaic, or blur effects.
Unlike standard PDF editors that simply superimpose superficial black rectangles over existing text, this tool performs irreversible physical pixel rasterization. The underlying text layers, vector graphics, and OCR streams are completely destroyed and cannot be recovered by copy-pasting or reverse-engineering.
Additionally, the tool performs deep metadata wiping, eliminating author information, creation history, and XMP streams. All processing runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server uploads.

Can anyone recover redacted information by copying text or inspecting layers?
No. The redacted areas undergo physical pixel burn-in flattening. Underlying text, vectors, and objects are completely removed from the file structure, making recovery impossible.
What is the difference between blackout, mosaic, and blur?
Blackout creates a solid black mask (standard for legal documents); whiteout provides a clean white mask; mosaic creates a pixelated grid; and blur produces a soft frosted glass effect.
Are files uploaded to your servers?
No. All rendering, redaction, flattening, and PDF generation occur entirely within your browser memory. Your documents never leave your device.
What metadata is removed?
Document Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, CreationDate, ModDate, and extended XMP metadata streams are thoroughly erased.
