The PDF Scratchpad Margin Extender is an essential study companion tailored for students, researchers, and professional exam candidates.
When solving practice test papers, reviewing slides, or reading academic textbooks on digital tablets, page margins are incredibly tight. Opening a separate notes app forces you to toggle screens constantly, breaking focus. Adding flat blank sheets prevents you from viewing the problem and your calculation side-by-side.
This tool rewrites page width or height dimensions in the low-level PDF structure, expanding /MediaBox margins by 200~250 pt on the right or bottom. It then overlays clean grid lines, college-ruled notebook lines, or Cornell layouts in the new margins, giving you dedicated, adjacent draft boards next to every single slide or question!

Will this squish my original PDF text?
Not at all. The algorithm expands the paper dimension outwards. The original content retains its layout, fonts, and resolution; we simply stretch the white space on the borders and draw grids on them.
Can standard hand-writing pens write in the scratchpad?
Yes. The new PDF pages are compiled natively. Popular tablet note-taking applications like Goodnotes, Notability, Xodo, and Acrobat can write, highlight, and doodle directly in the new grid space.
Are grid lines dark and distracting?
We curated three subtle, eye-friendly colors (soft blue-gray, warm brown, and glowing green). The lines are thin and gentle, serving as guides without distracting you from the original page content.
